On the north side of Fleet Street is the famous inn rebuilt in 1667, where having a drink or a meal is a fantastic experience, although in cramped conditions of carefully preserved, smoke-blackened antiquity. Mind your head as you go downstairs! The inn has had many famous literary people drink and dine here including Newton, Johnson and Coleridge.
The steak and kidney pudding is a definite on the menu.
