Benjamin Disraeli, 1st Earl of Beaconsfield, KG, PC, FRS, born 21 December 1804, London was a British Prime Minster, parliamentarian, statesman and author.

He was Prime Minister from 27 February 1868 to April 1880, and Chancellor of the Exchequer from 27 February 1852 to 17 December 1852, 26 February 1858 to 11 June 1859 and from 6 July 1866 to 29 February 1868.

He wrote Vivian Grey in 1826. Disraeli was elevated to the House of Lords in 1876 when Queen Victoria made him Earl of Beaconsfield and Viscount Hughenden.

Disraeli died in April 1881 and is buried in a vault beneath the Church of St Michael and All Angels which stands in the grounds of his home Hughenden Manor, accessed from the churchyard.
