Alexandra Park so called in honour of Queen Alexandria, this 11 acre park was opened in 1902 to commemorate the Coronation of Edward VII. It is situated at the top of Beechen Cliff giving magnificent panoramic views of the city and the surrounding wooded vales and hills. Its lawns and fine trees giving a restful atmosphere, and there is a children's play area.
From the park one can walk back down to the city centre through beautiful and wooded Beechen Cliff - although the steps may prove too much of a challenge for some.
