Built in 1750 built by William Adam in 1752 and with additions in 1890-1980, designed by Sir Robert Rowan Anderson for the Maxwell family, it houses the Stirling Maxwell collection of Spanish and other European paintings. 
There are refurbished rooms and furniture from Glasgow museums and all set in gardens and parkland.
