Ladybank Golf Club

Founded in 1879, Jack Nicklaus and Steve Ballesteros are honorary members of this fine 18 hole club which is rated among the best of all Scottish inland courses.

Set among glorious stands of pine and silver birch, heather and gorse, it presents a marvellous challenge. It is said that golf clubs, leman and doctort alone golf balls, have been lost in this impenetrable undergrowth.

Ladybank is an Open Championship qualifying course when the Championship is played at nearby St Andrews.

I met a doctor at my hospital last week (May 2025 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia)), and being an Elie lad told me 'that if you haven't played golf at Ladybank you've never played golf! He played there as boy, man and now doctor when he visits his Scottish home.
