Home of Elizabeth Anderson born on 9 June 1836 in Whitechapel, London and died on 17 December 1917 (aged 81) in Aldeburgh. She entered the medical profession when it was still closed to women. She opened a hospital in London which still bears her name and she was also the first woman mayor in England and of Aldeburgh.
